Wireless Projection How-To

Many of the classrooms and Special Event spaces are equipped with wireless projection devices (AirMedia).  For a list of equipped spaces, please access the file attached to this article.

First-time setup is fairly quick, but we suggest that you do it a few minutes before your presentation begins.  There are two options - one-time use (for guest speakers or presentations) and multiple-session use (for teaching classes).

One-Time Use

1. After you have turned the projector on, select the Air Media option on the Crestron button panel.

2. On the projector screen, you will see an Air Media display. You will see an IP address (usually formatted xx.xx.xx.xx) next to a URL. DO NOT enter the URL. Enter the IP address into a web browser and press Enter.

3. You will be prompted to download Crestron software. Choose the appropriate MAC or Windows option.

4. Once you have downloaded the software, run the file.

5. You will next be prompted to enter a code. In the top right hand corner of the projected display on the screen, there will be a four digit code (xxxx). Enter the code (please note, this code will change every time you use the Air Media software).

6. Once you have entered the code, your computer display will appear on the screen. (There might be a slight lag for the sound from your computer to kick in.)

If you have any issues at all, please call 2020.

Multi-Session Use

1) You will need to download the AirMedia software. Open your preferred web browser with your laptop and click: http://www.crestron.com/products/airmedia_mobile_wireless_hd_prese ntations/index.html?from=www.crestron.com%2Fairmedia (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

2) Scroll down the webpage and select either the AirMedia Deployable Application for Windows or the OS X Deployable Application for a Mac laptop. Open the exe. file and download the application.

3)  Crestron AirMedia will create a shortcut on your desktop for future connections. Note: If you have a Mac laptop you will need to download Soundflower (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. to get audio to transmit from your computer.

4)  Launch the Crestron AirMedia software with the shortcut created on your desktop.

5)  Turn on the projection system in the classroom. On the podium touch panel, select the AirMedia button.

6)  Find the IP Address for the classroom’s AirMedia unit which is displayed on the projector screen. (The IP Address looks like xx.xx.xxxx) Enter the IP Address and the code in the Login box and click Connect.

7)  The IP Address will not change, but the Code changes with each session use of AirMedia.

8)  Start your presentation.  Full motion video with sound is possible, but you may notice that the video lags slightly behind from your laptop's display.  Turn down your computer's speakers for the best results.

9)  You can play, pause or stop your display using the AirMedia presentation control window, which pops up once you have successfully connected.  You can drag the control window to a corner of your screen so it won't interfere with the display.

10)  Remember to close the application (click the "x" in the presentation control window) when you are finished.
