Choose an authentication method from the dropdown menu. The method is entirely up to you, but if you don’t have great cell phone service and you have a smart device, the Microsoft Authenticator app will be more reliable for you.
Text Message authentication
:
Enter your phone number and decide whether you want to be called or texted a code
Enter the code that has been texted to you to complete the setup
Microsoft Authenticator App
:
Click ‘set up’ and you’ll be prompted to scan a QR code with your phone. Wait, you’ll need the app for this.
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google Play or the App Store
To add an account, press the ‘+’ symbol in the upper right
Choose ‘work or school account’
You’ll be prompted to scan a QR code from your computer. Now you can return to your computer screen and point your phone’s camera at the code.
The process will now test whichever authentication method you have chosen
You’ll be redirected to a login screen that asks you to approve sign-in.
Lastly, double check the authentication information you’ve provided. If you like everything you see, you can click ‘cancel’ at the bottom and you’ll enter into your account settings page. Close this when you’re satisfied, and you’re all set.
